I started this Substack in hopes of having a place I can share my artwork free of censorship. I have been shadow banned on social media for several years after posting my collages to instagram. Apparently my artwork goes against community standards. Our Patreon also had an “18 & over” level of censorship for years for the same reason. That’s what prompted us to try Substack out in the first place. I have been hesitant to begin sharing my artwork here, but here goes. We’ll see what happens!
Last night at our monthly Sentient Solar Cycle workshop, I shared this collage I created and the process of the collage becoming a poem becoming a song becoming a short film. First, I transcribed the cut-up text, which became a poem in my first book of poetry, Switching Mirrors (2016). When Carl and I traveled to Portugal, we brought the manuscript for Switching Mirrors, and I recited various poems at different magical sites around the country. Carl recorded this reading of “Rite of Love” at the Boca de Inferno and set it to music. The song is included on our 2 album set Switching/ Mirrors, and I created this video to accompany it.
